As soon as Marco and his sister Tina started to work at their parents place in the evenings, this pop/rock bar started to shift towards a venue known for house and techno music. Marco would be playing tapes from the major clubs he was visiting at the time and resident Nic made sure fresh releases were shared with the public. Eventually Marco booked Henk from R&S Records to come and deejay in September 1993. This was never seen on the Oude Markt in Leuven before.

It didn't take long before the word got around and DJs like Tofke, Marko, Phi-Phi, Olivier Gosseries, Frank Zolex and Franky Jones were playing there regulary for an insane crowd - people were coming from all over Belgium to the tiny bar. Even Felix Da Housecat graced the line-up on Thursdays before his various collaborations would lead to international superstar DJ status.

With all the attention Nota Bene was getting, it was only evident that the police had to pay a visit as well. This first happened in 1994 and again in 1995, after which they adviced him to stop booking well-know club DJs on Thursdays. From that moment on, resident DJ Peter Novak was found more and more behind the wheels of steel - building a strong reputation in his own right with his excellent record selection, mixing skills and ever present smile.

Nota Bene closed its doors in 1999.
